Assem, founder of TAPPIN’ TATTS, is a professional tattoo artist who has been a leading presence in Egypt’s tattoo scene since 2015. 

 

Assem has taught and mentored multiple artists throughout his career, with experience across fine line, blackwork, Sumi Nagashi, black and grey, and realism techniques.

Students who demonstrate strong technical ability, professionalism and consistency may be invited to continue developing within TAPPIN' TATTS after completing the course. Further opportunities are performance-based and not guaranteed.

  • Basic drawing skills are required

  • Commitment to regular practice and attendance

  • iPad with Procreate is optional but strongly recommended

  • Tattoo machine is optional

Registration Process

Thanks for your interest in our tattoo course! We keep this program intentionally small and selective so we can give proper attention to each student. There are no right or wrong answers here. We are mainly looking for commitment, self awareness, and a realistic understanding of what tattooing involves. Please take your time filling this out.

Portfolio

Please upload 10 to 20 pieces maximum.

We are not judging style. We are looking at basics and effort.

Portfolio guidelines:

  • At least 3 drawings done from real life observation

  • At least 2 pieces that show clean line control

  • At least 2 pieces that show shading or value

  • Digital work is fine, but include at least 3 hand drawn pieces

  • No AI generated work

Please note that there is a waiting list for this course. You are expected to pay the course fees in full at least a month before the starting day of your course. By submitting this application, you understand that this is a selective program and that not all applicants will be accepted.
