RESIDENT ARTIST
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By joining TAPPIN’ TATTS as a Resident Artist, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure fairness, safety, professionalism and smooth studio operations for everyone.

 

1. Revenue Split

Resident artists agree to a standard 70 percent (artist) and 30 percent (studio) revenue split on all tattoo bookings and services conducted at the studio. 
All payments go to the studio first. Payouts follow the schedule agreed with management.

2. Exclusive Engagement

During the agreed residency period, the Artist agrees to work exclusively at TAPPIN’ TATTS and will not tattoo at any other studio, event or private location within Cairo.

This exclusivity applies only to the agreed residency period.

3. Online Representation

Resident artists must represent the studio clearly and consistently online.
Artists are required to:

• Include “Resident Artist @tappintatts” in their Instagram bio.
• Tag TAPPIN’ TATTS in posts and stories of all work completed in the studio.​​

Mention the studio in feed posts and reels featuring work created at TAPPIN’ TATTS.

4. Media, Photo and Content Rights

Artists agree that:

The studio may repost their work on social media, website and marketing materials.

Any work created at TAPPIN’ TATTS can be used by the studio for promotional purposes, with credit given to the artist.

5. Hygiene and Cleanliness

Maintaining a clean and safe workspace is mandatory. Artists are expected to maintain current Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) or equivalent infection-control training appropriate to their professional practice. Artists may be asked to provide evidence of completed training. All artists must comply with TAPPIN' TATTS' hygiene, sterilization, barrier, sharps disposal and infection-control procedures regardless of external training or certification.

All artists must:

  • Clean and sanitize their station before and after each session.

  • Properly dispose of used materials and waste.

  • Use sterilized equipment and follow all infection control protocols.

  • Follow all studio safety procedures including barriers, gloves, and proper handling of contaminated materials.

  • Report any accidents or blood exposure.

  • Provide clients with detailed aftercare instructions following each session.

6. Professional Conduct

TAPPIN’ TATTS maintains a safe, respectful and client centered culture. Resident artists are expected to uphold professional behavior including:

• Keeping healthy boundaries with clients. Romantic or intimate interactions with clients are strongly discouraged as they undermine trust and can create unsafe dynamics.
• Treating all clients and colleagues with respect.
• Maintaining a neutral and non disruptive presence in the studio.
• Respecting decisions made by management related to scheduling, safety, conflict resolution and work environment.

 

Conduct that disrupts the work environment can lead to termination of the working relationship.

7. Supplies and Materials

The studio provides furniture, cleaning materials and basic equipment. Any excessive use of studio consumables may incur a fee. 

Artists are responsible for their own machines, needles, cartridges, inks, second skin and personal materials.

Artists must:

• Use studio equipment responsibly.

• Report damage immediately.

• Pay for repairs if damage occurs due to misuse.

8. Bookings, Deposits and Communication

All bookings go through the studio manager. Clients pay deposits and payments directly to the studio.

Artists agree to:

• Provide full details for every appointment including client name, estimated price and estimated time.

• Respect the studio calendar.

• Notify the manager immediately of any changes.

• Ensure clients pay deposits to the studio and send proof of payment.

• Payouts are agreed on and arranged with the studio owner.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

Artists must:
• Respect client privacy and not share personal information.
• Not film clients without consent, and do not post their work without permission.
• Not disclose internal studio conversations, financial information or internal studio matters publicly.

10. Refunds and Aftercare Responsibilities

Artists are responsible for:

• Handling any refund requests related to their work.

• Providing aftercare support to their clients.

• Supporting clients through healing when required, including after their residency ends.

10. Termination

TAPPIN’ TATTS reserves the right to end a residency at any time if the artist fails to comply with these terms or compromises the studio’s professional standards.

Full studio policies are outlined in the TAPPIN’ TATTS Artist Handbook, which will be shared with you upon onboarding.

By participating in a residency at TAPPIN’ TATTS, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms.
